Our rescue had been working with an owner trying to give up his dog and then suddenly, he went silent. We had a lot of info on the dog, but no medical paperwork. One day we got a call from a lady driving by Target who saw a dog being given away from a truck. She contacted us and we realized it was the same dog we had been working on. We had already had a foster home lined up for her, so this lady helped immediately get her to a vet so we could get her shots done. Then she met up with Tom and Lori from Opelika. They had had three dogs and now were down to two so gladly welcomed the young energy of this 1-year-old dog into their home to keep up with the last dog they got from us a few years ago. Matilda was adopted, after a local spay was completed.
